Welcome to Ingress.

     Ingress is a GPS-based augmented reality game in which Agents capture Portals at landmarks of human endeavor (places with artistic, historic, and/or social importance) for their Faction. You could be a casual or intense player but you will find yourself in places you never knew existed, either right in your local community or far from home. The Tucson Metro area has over 3000 portals including libraries, parks, statues, murals, and local hotspots.

     Ingress can be as simple as hacking portals for gear on the way to the grocery store or as complicated as international operations involving dozens of agents to capture hundreds of square kilometers for your Faction. It is up to you how much time and energy you want to devote to the game, and the game is free to play. So why not try it out?

      There are two teams, or Factions: the Enlightened, who seek to use the power of the Portals to help humanity, and the Resistance, who balk at progress and want to stay mired in the past. If you’re here, you are probably very smart, so the Enlightened is the Faction for you.

     Tucson METEOR is a community of local Enlightened players that share resources (including the occasional snacks), help new players learn how to play, and team up for large operations and social events.
